|Date: Saturday, May 3rd, 2014|
Location: 127 N. Churton St. in historic downtown Hillsborough
The Hillsborough Bladder Cancer Walk was established in 2011 by Erin Sapienza and her family in honor of her father, Eddie Hurt. However, the event will be sponsored by the Triangle BCAN Chapter which was established in March 2013. This year the walk will again be held in Hillsboro, North Carolina and will begin at 12 Noon on Saturday, May 3rd.
The 2014 Triangle BCAN Chapter Bladder Cancer Walk will be held in memory of Emil Vasquez (November 25, 2013) and Joseph L. McLaurin (November 27, 2013), both members of the Triangle Bladder Cancer Support Group and in honor of all that are fighting bladder cancer on a daily basis.
Thank you to our Local Partner
Because more than 73,000 new cases of bladder cancer will be diagnosed this year.
Because over 15,000 people will die this year in the US alone.
Because 500,000 people are living with this life changing disease. That's 1 in 42 people!!
Because even though it is the 6th most commonly diagnosed cancer there have been no new treatments developed in 25 years!
– we need to change this!
We walk on one day – bladder cancer is diagnosed every day.
Don't delay! On line registration closes April 23rd and registration by mail must be sent by April 18th. There will be limited day of registration on site.
